Above is pictured the Cairo-Fulton Freight Depot on April 2, 2004 after renovations were completed. This is the oldest remaining building in Hope. Formerly the Stephen's Grocery Company, this building was donated to the City of Hope by the Stephen's family on September 4, 2001. Renovations were made possible through grants from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. Contained in the building is the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council, a community conference room and the Paul W. Klipsch Museum. Just outside to the east of the building is a nice garden available to walk through after touring the museum. Pictured at the bottom of this page is a photo of the building just after the old metal siding had been removed, exposing the original oak boards. |
|
The top photo to the right shows the depot's hallway with all the new wood trim. The middle picture catches the Conference Room and some of the Klipsch pictures and displays. To the right side if the photo behind the glass windows is the Klipsch Museum. Pictured on the bottom will be the inside of the museum. |
