	Dennis Ramsey, Mayor Ward 5 Mayor Ramsey was first elected to the Board in 1978 and has continuously served as Mayor since 1993. Mayor Ramsey is president of Summit Bank of Hope. In addition to his duties as Mayor, Mr. Ramsey also serves on the Hope Advertising & Tourism Promotion Commission and the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation. Term expires - 12/2012
	David Johnson, Vice-Mayor Ward 2 Vice-Mayor Johnson has served on the Board of Directors since 1986 and has served as Vice-Mayor since 1993. In addition to his duties as Vice-Mayor, Mr. Johnson serves on the Board of Visitors of Medical Park Hospital. Term expires - 12/2012
	Doodle Franklin, Director Ward 1 Director Franklin was first elected to the Board in 1993. Mr. Franklin is retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. In addition to his services as a Director, Mr. Franklin serves as Chairman of the Hope Planning & Zoning Commission. Doodle is serving until a replacement can be elected. Term expires - 12/2010
	Don Hall, Director Ward 4 Director Hall took J.C. Winemiller's position when he retired in 2002. Mr. Hall is retired from Hall's Plumbing in Hope. Term expires - 12/2010
	Steve Montgomery, Director Ward 6 Director Montgomery was sworn in to replace Don Still's position in Ward 6 on April 3, 2007. Mr. Montgomery is the owner of three McDonald's restaurants, including the one in Hope. Term expires - 12/2014
	Don Still, Director Ward 7 Director Still was first elected to the Board in 1992. In addition to his duties as a Director, Mr. Still serves on the Hope Street Committee. Mr. Still is an owner of Still's Automotive Service in Hope. Term expires - 12/2014
	Willie Walker, Director Ward 3 Director Walker has served on the Board since 1993. In addition to his duties as a Director, Mr. Walker serves on the Hope Street Committee. Term expires - 12/2012

FORM OF GOVERNMENT

The City of Hope operates under the Council-Manager form of goverment. The citizens of Hope elect, by wards, a seven member City Board of Directors who appoint the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk. The City Board functions as the City of Hope's policy-making/legislative branch of City government. The City Board provides vision and leadership for the City of Hope.

The City of Hope holds non-partisan elections by ward. Each Board member serves a four-year term. The Board as a whole selects one of their number to serve as Mayor. The Mayor presides over Board meetings, serves as the ceremonial head of the City government, and signs contracts and other documents as authorized by the Board.

The primary function of the Hope City Board of Directors is to set policy, consider bids and contracts, review/approve the budget, determine tax and fee structures, consider requests from citizens, and employment of the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Clerk.

The Hope Board of Directors formally meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at the City Hall Board Room. All meetings of the City of Hope Board of Directors are open to the public.
