THE HEMPSTEAD COUNTY QUORUM COURT has scheduled a special election to be held concurrently with the primary election
in March. This special election will ask the voters of Hempstead
County to grant a one cent sales and use tax for the purpose of
converting the former Farmers Bank and Trust building into the new
courthouse, and provide funds for the removal of the current courthouse,
if such is deemed necessary.
The current courthouse has served the county for over 80 years. The
Quorum Court and Elected Officials of the county invite the citizens to a
series of informational meetings on the election.
The schedule and locations of the meetings are:
January 21, 2020 DeAnn Fire Station
January 28, 2020 Hempstead Hall
January 30, 2020 Spring Hill Fire Station
February 3, 2020 Fulton Community Center (6:30pm)
February 4, 2020 Bingen Community Center
February 11, 2020 McNab Community Center
February 13, 2020 Southeast Fire Station
February 18, 2020 Blevins City Hall
February 25, 2020 Washington Fire Station
All meetings will be held at 6:00p.m. EXCEPT for the Fulton meeting which will be held at 6:30pm.
